Hey Opponauts, if any of you are in the Mid-Wisconsin area and spot a vehicle wearing a BRIGHT green set of 17" charger steelies with practically brand new Michelin X-Ice Xi3 215/60/17 tires, please alert the authorities and/or me. they were stolen from me today between 3 and 6 PM.

Here is a picture of my car over the winter with them on.

If you're going to steel some wheals why not go with a set that blends in more?

Where they still on your car when they were stolen?

you'd think, right? or the set of 14" black steel wheels with winter tires stacked right next to them. but no.

nope. stacked next to the garage. along with all the other wheels my roommate and I have stacked. just mine missing.

That's one strange thief, if he's going to sell them my best guess would be that the wheels would be painted, or removed.

Ugh, x-ices are great tires too...

Pretty sure they wanted the tires.

Man, stolen wheels has been a huge issue in the Chicagoland area lately. The FB group Chicagoland Petrolheads and Car Spotters gets at least one picture of a car on bricks pretty much every day

what prevents them from just spraying them black.

nothing, but Charger steelies aren't common around here, and brand new 215/60/17 X-Ice Xi3s aren't either. so I'd still know they were mine.

There was another set of perfectly good snow tires stacked next to them that remained where they were. 14s though instead of the 17s I was running. But no worries, I should be able to find them pretty easily, I live in a town of 607 and the only way anyone would have seen them at all is to drive through the alley behind my house, so it has to be someone local.

What a shame painting them, though. they look cool!

Yeah, I spent over $700 on that set and didn't use them more than about 3 months.

they took the more expensive ones, and they may not have sufficient cargo space for 8 wheels. 14 inchers aren't really popular nowadays.
I'm sure your awful steelies have been sold for scrap metal.

I'd hope not, junkyards around here want good money for Charger steelies! But no matter, they'll be found.
